Therepeutic and Indian Head Massage

Therapeutic Massage is used to aid relaxation and/or to treat any problems, including muscular pain, injuries, tension and stiffness. It is performed on a massage table, the client undressed to their underwear and protected by towels. Using a combination of techniques the massage tends to focus on the problem areas, and may be deeper than other holistic massages. Each session is preceded by a short consultation in order to tailor the massage to the client.

Massage is one of the oldest known healing arts and is one of the most natural and safest forms of body therapy, working on both the physical and emotional levels. Indian Head Massage does this, by squeezing and kneading a person’s shoulders and neck, releases muscle tension, stroking and rubbing the head soothes a tired, busy mind and massaging the face melts away the stress and strains of everyday life. It is a portable skill and can be performed anywhere as there is no need for undressing, specialist equipment or oils/waxes.

Pregnancy massages are performed on a wider-than-average massage table, using the side position, and back if appropriate. Clients are also encouraged to do specialised exercises using the swiss ball. The massage is relaxing - allowing the mother time to focus on her baby while having any aches and pains alleviated by soothing strokes.

Sophie works from her home in Wandsworth, but can do home visits if required. Double appointments are available during the day for parents or friends who want to bring their children and take turns to be massaged.

Sophie has comprehensive insurance cover from the specialist insurance brokers, Balens.
